The Melbourne Knee Research and Education Foundation is a not for profit organisation dedicated to advancing the treatment of problems affecting the knee.

The Foundation?s activities are primarily focused on research, treatment, education and health promotion about diseases and conditions of the knee.

This includes the monitoring of results to ensure the best possible treatment outcomes are achieved.

The Melbourne Knee Research and Education Foundation also looks at ways to improve access to treatment of knee conditions and diseases affecting disadvantaged athletes.

Outcomes

Results matter. The Melbourne Knee Research and Education Foundation has a pivotal role in? ensuring patients achieve the best possible outcome following surgery. The Foundation collects information about surgery to treat or prevent disease of the knee, ,? which includes monitoring results after the procedure.,

Research & Education

The Foundation undertakes research and provides education and health promotion activities, so that knee diseases and conditions (particularly arthritis) can be prevented.

Foundation members keep up to date with the latest developments and research in the field and regularly contribute to scientific literature and conferences.

Fellowship

The Foundation administers the Melbourne Knee Fellowship, which has a long tradition of training the next generation of surgeons in the art and science of knee surgery. Typically offered to fully qualified surgeons beginning their independent careers, the program covers all aspects of knee surgery. Positions are generally six months duration. Community Support

The Foundation seeks to give back to the community by supporting disadvantaged athletes access treatment when injury could otherwise impact a promising future.

Nathan is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, subspecialising in surgery of the knee. He has completed both medical and physiotherapy training, plus advanced post qualification training overseas in all aspects of surgery of the knee.

Hayden an Orthopaedic Surgeon, subspecialising in surgery of the knee. He has undertaken advanced post qualification training in all aspects of surgery of the knee and has been the primary supervisor for the Melbourne Knee Fellowship for many years.
